As you know, I am a relatively productive person. Mostly.
Here’s some food for thought…
Imagine if you took all your wasted doom-scroll time and consciously applied it to something seriously productive in your life. Just imagine.
As it stands, in 2025, your attention is by far the most valuable asset you have. And guess what? You’re just giving it all away.
I woke this morning at 3 a.m. (not uncommon), read my book for an hour, then put my shoes on and went down to my studio to knock out a couple of hours on the kit before my family woke up.
This is all great stuff, sure, and quite productive by all accounts. But once I got home and sat on the couch with a coffee in hand, I found myself in the brain-rot doom scroll. WTF?!
After all that productivity and all that mindset work (powerful audios I was listening to while practicing), I still just gave it all away to the algorithm lords, like an absolute mindless muppet.
I hate doom-scrolling with a passion. An absolute passion.
Every time I find myself doing it I feel quite disgusted. It’s almost like having stomach bile in your throat after throwing up. Seriously, it gives me that sort of feeling.
Why do I feel that way about it? Well, to put it bluntly, because I know I am better than that. But as it stands, I’m clearly not, and I feel like I’m losing the race.
We all are.
Even after a productive start to the day or week, I do not want to be giving away any of my time and attention to sh*t I did not sign up for. Random videos by random people with random opinions on random topics. It’s madness. We all do it. And I don’t want a bar of any of it.
So what do we do?
Well, in my case, I’ve cut it off at the head. I’ve deleted Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube off my phone. All three of these apps suck up a lot of my time, so they have to go.
As you know, I’m not here to f*ck around.
Keep in mind too, in terms of content, it’s important to know that you can still post when you need to. You can re-download the apps when required or just use your computer instead, like I do.
Because I make my videos on my computer, I can just post from there and then check any messages I may have. Simple.
It’s all doable and on our terms. We just have bad habits now, which is exactly what big tech wanted.
The other day, I posted this…

A lot of you resonated with this. The struggle is real.
So think about this. If you took all of your unproductive doom-scroll time and instead used it for something like reading, exercise, practice, family time, or hell, even rest, the exponential gains you could make in your life would be crazy.
I mean that. We are more hooked than we’ve ever been, so if you went cold turkey and managed to re-purpose that time, you would have instantly separated yourself from the herd more than ever.
So yeah, that’s where my head is at today. By removing those apps, I got back to work. I sent out important information for my next 30-Day (which kicks off in two weeks), and then I sat down and wrote this very newsletter you’re reading now. That’s a win.
Take your time and attention back, because trust, aside from your health, it’s all we truly have.
Have a great week.
Stay hungry (and healthy)
